Sailing Lessons
Join us this summer for one of our engaging sailing programs! Participants can choose from two sessions:
Session 1: June 16 – July 20 (various days/times to choose from - see below)
Session 2: July 28 – August 31 (various days/times to choose from - see below)
Tiller Time (TT)
Intensive 1-on-1 Instruction
A full-summer, committed course designed for those who are serious about learning to sail. Each student is paired with an individual instructor, meeting three times per week.
Goal: Build the confidence and skills to independently operate a sailboat.
Curriculum: Rigging, starting, stopping, tacking, gybing, docking, anchoring, and more.
Note: This is a YMCA sailing course and does not provide ASA or US Sailing certification.
Availability: Limited based on instructor availability.

Group Sail (GS)
Learn Together in a Small Group
Perfect for beginners looking for a fun and social introduction to sailing. Groups of 3–4 participants register for one session and meet once per week at a regular time.
Goal: Learn the basics of sailing in a relaxed group setting.
Curriculum: Hands-on instruction with an emphasis on teamwork and enjoyment.
Choose from the following times (Session 1 or 2):
Sunday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Monday: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Wednesday: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Fee: $229 per person (Member/Nonmember)
Open Sail (OS)
Try Sailing — Just Once!
Experience sailing in a one-time 90-minute introductory session. Ideal for individuals or small groups (2–4 people) who want a fun and low-commitment experience.
Goal: Get a taste of sailing in a guided, hands-on format.
Curriculum: Includes steering, mainsheet trim, and other basics.
Available Times (choose from Session 1 or 2):
Sunday: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM or 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Monday: 11:00 AM - 1:00 pm or 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM or 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Fee:
$40 for 1 person
$60 for 2 people (register at the front desk to get the discount)
Hunter 140 Dinghy Class
For Ages 12–18
No prior experience required. This youth sailing course teaches the fundamentals of sailing along with essential skills such as weather awareness, knot tying, and water safety. Classes meet twice per week for one session.
Schedule:
Monday: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Wednesday: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
