OUR MISSION:
I WANT
YOUTH PROGRAMS
When James Naismith invented basketball at the turn of the century, he did it so that young people had an activity to do during cold winter months and also as a way to keep kids learning valuable life skills. We continue that tradition at the Manitowoc Y.
Below are a few of our Youth programs.
Youth Sports Leagues
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they'll carry with them throughout their lives. The benefits are far greater than just physical health. Participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Competitive Youth Sports
Swimming, and gymnastics are popular compteitive sports leagues at the Y. There are state, regional and national championships annually, helping kids value hard work, reach for excellence and enjoy spirited competition. Our Y also specializes in youth competitive tennis, a sport that when learned at a young age can pay great dividends in the life of a young person.
